Data Retention and Offline Cache
Cloud history keeps the last 180 days per Sensor. ST3/ST4 buffer readings while offline, and the Hub caches about 5000 readings while it has no Internet.
Cloud retention
Temperature and humidity readings from ST1/ST2/ST3/ST4 and ST5/ST6 Sensors are uploaded through the Hub to the MOCREO Sensor cloud and kept for the last 180 days. Once a Sensor reaches 180 days of history, the oldest readings are overwritten.
Because of this limit, a data export can cover at most 180 days for one Sensor. See Export Data for the export steps.
What happens when the Hub is powered off or loses the network
- Sensor buffer (ST3/ST4 only): When the Sensor cannot reach the Hub, ST3 stores the most recent 510 readings and ST4 the most recent 765 readings. After the Sensor reconnects, it transfers the buffered readings to the Hub, which uploads them to the cloud. Other Sensor models do not buffer, so readings taken while the Hub is powered off are lost.
- Hub cache (all Sensors): When the Hub is powered but has no Internet, it caches readings from all of its Sensors, up to about 5000 readings, and re-uploads them once it reconnects.
- Hub reboot while caching: The Hub reboots automatically every 8 hours for maintenance; that reboot keeps the cache. Any other reboot during the outage, such as a power cut, clears the cache and those readings are lost.
