Sensor Monitoring Data Update Rules

Rules that determine when supported MOCREO Smart System Sensors report monitoring data.

Sensors may take measurements more frequently than they report them. A measurement is reported only when an update rule is triggered.

Common Reporting Rules

For all models covered below, monitoring data is reported when any of these conditions is met:

  1. A monitored value or state reaches its change threshold.
  2. For models with scheduled reporting, the scheduled interval is reached even if nothing has changed.
  3. An alert rule is triggered or returns to normal. Alert and recovery reports are not blocked by the normal change threshold or reporting interval.

Probe disconnection and recovery are also reported immediately. For Sensors with a physical button, briefly pressing the button for 1 second forces an immediate data update. Battery data accompanies temperature reports and is sent at most once per hour.

Temperature and Humidity Sensors

ModelsChange-triggered reportScheduled report
ST5, ST8, ST10, MS1, MS2Temperature changes by at least 1.0°CEvery 10 minutes
ST6, ST9Temperature changes by at least 1.0°C or humidity changes by at least 6% RHEvery 10 minutes
SD1 with a temperature probeTemperature changes by at least 1.0°CEvery 10 minutes
SD1 with a temperature and humidity probeTemperature changes by at least 1.0°C or humidity changes by at least 6% RHEvery 10 minutes
LS1, LS2Temperature changes by at least 1.5°CAbout every 10 minutes
LS3Temperature changes by at least 1.5°C or humidity changes by at least 6% RHAbout every 10 minutes
NS1Temperature changes by at least 1.5°CEvery 10 minutes
NS2, NS3Temperature changes by at least 1.5°C or humidity changes by at least 4% RHEvery 10 minutes

For ST6, ST9, SD1 with a temperature and humidity probe, LS3, NS2, and NS3, temperature and humidity use an OR condition: either value can trigger the report, and the current temperature and humidity values are sent together. The comparison is made against the last values sent by a change-triggered report; a scheduled report does not replace that comparison baseline.

LoRa temperature Sensors remeasure once before deciding whether to report when two readings differ by at least 8°C. This reduces false reports caused by a sudden abnormal reading.

State Sensors and Alarm Devices

ModelsChange-triggered reportScheduled report or heartbeat
SW2Reports immediately when the water state changes between dry and wetNo scheduled report
LW1Reports a water-state change immediately, with retry backoffEvery 1 hour
LD1Reports immediately when the door state changesNo scheduled report
SD1 with a door contact probeReports immediately when the door state changesNo scheduled report
LB1Reports a state change immediatelyEvery 10 minutes

Multi-Probe Sensors

For NS3 and SD1, each probe is evaluated independently, but the report is sent as one device update. If one probe triggers a report, the other probe's current value is included even if that probe has not reached its own change threshold.

Rule Pending Confirmation

The change threshold and scheduled reporting interval for MS3 are not documented here because they still require firmware confirmation. Do not infer its values from another model.

Customizing Update Frequency

  • To request a different update frequency for a supported Bluetooth LE Sensor, contact MOCREO Support.
  • Custom update frequency is not supported for LoRa Sensors.
