Temperature and Humidity Compensation

Review Smart App compensation limits, multi-probe field mapping, and historical-data behavior.

The Smart App provides temperature and humidity compensation for correcting a confirmed fixed measurement difference.

Compensation Range and Step

MeasurementRangeStep
Temperature-5.0 to +5.0°C / -9.0 to +9.0°F0.1 in the current unit
Humidity-5.0 to +5.0% RH0.1% RH

These limits apply to Smart App mrd_v3_app v1.7.2. Compensation is an offset applied to a reading; it does not change the raw value reported by the Sensor or Hub.

Smart System Multi-Probe Compensation

Compensation is independent by measurement field, not by physical probe. Each supported field has one compensation value.

ModelProbeMeasurementField
NS3Probe 1Temperaturetemperature
NS3Probe 1Humidityhumidity
NS3Probe 2Temperaturetemperature_1
SD1Probe 1Temperaturetemperature
SD1Probe 2Temperaturetemperature_1
SD1Probe 2Humidityhumidity

The SD1 door sensor does not have a compensation field.

NS3 has only one humidity compensation field, humidity. The two probe views share this value, so changing it from either location changes the same underlying compensation value.

How Compensation Affects Historical Data

The Hub reports an uncompensated reading, and the time-series database stores that raw value. Alert evaluation adds the currently effective compensation before comparing the result with the threshold.

When history is read or exported, each point is converted using the compensation segment effective at that point's timestamp. Compensation changes are archived with from and to boundaries, so a new compensation value does not retroactively shift earlier periods.
