Sensor Measurement Accuracy

Check each Sensor model's measurement accuracy and use a same-model comparison before deciding that data is abnormal.

Use this guide when a Sensor reading differs from an expected value or another instrument. The values below describe the normal difference between same-model Sensors in a stable environment.

  1. Compare Sensors at the same time and in the same location. A refrigerator display may show a control value from a different position.
  2. Keep probes away from vents, cooling coils, frost, door edges, and direct defrost heat. Allow readings to stabilize through normal cooling cycles.
  3. Place two uncalibrated Sensors of the same model together. A small difference may be within the model specification; a Sensor with a clearly different curve is more likely abnormal.
  4. Check the model's measurement range and accuracy before using compensation. Use compensation only for a confirmed fixed offset, not for changing environmental patterns.
