Abnormal Battery Drain

Separate cold-environment, signal, battery, and hardware checks for Smart System Sensor battery drain.

Use this guide when battery history decreases by more than 10% in 7 days or more than 40% in 30 days.

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Confirm the trend. Compare battery history rather than a single value. More than 10% in 7 days or 40% in 30 days is abnormal.
  2. Rechargeable lithium-battery models (ST5/ST6/ST9/ST10/SW2/SD1): Do not open the Sensor. Record the Sensor SN and deployment environment, then contact support.
  3. Replaceable-battery models (ST8/MS1/MS2/MS3/LS1/LS2/LS3/LW1/LD1): Install new approved batteries. Use approved low-temperature batteries in cold storage when required, then observe the battery trend again.
  4. If drain remains abnormal after battery replacement: Contact support with the Sensor SN, battery brand/type, deployment temperature, signal condition, and comparison dates.

The App battery value is a usable-charge estimate, not a direct voltage reading. A value below 20% should be treated as low battery, but low battery alone does not prove abnormal drain.
