Sensor Setup Failed
Open Home → + → Add Devices and select the exact sensor model, then follow its QR-code, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi setup flow.
Recommended Setup Entry:
On Home, tap [+] to open Add Devices, then select the exact sensor model. The former standalone Scan entry is no longer available. The App starts the correct QR-code, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi setup flow for the selected model.
1. Understand Your Setup Flow
Depending on your sensor model and version, the App uses one of these setup methods:
Identify the LS1 / LS2 Version
Check the first eight characters of the Sensor SN before troubleshooting:
| SN Prefix | Version | Wireless Hardware | Flow After Scanning the QR Code |
|---|---|---|---|
0030AEA4 | Older LS1/LS2 | Bluetooth LE + LoRa | The App starts the legacy Bluetooth setup flow. |
0030AE1x | New LS1/LS2 | LoRa only | The App binds the Sensor to the selected asset, then prompts for a 1-second button press to establish Hub communication. |
The x in 0030AE1x represents the variable eighth character. Both versions use QR-code scanning as the initial entry.
| Addition Method | Sensor Models | Setup Flow |
|---|---|---|
| QR code is the only entry | LW1, LD1, LB1 | Select the model and scan the Setup QR code on its label. There is no Bluetooth-discovery path. |
| QR entry; older version continues with Bluetooth | LS1, LS2 | Both versions start with the QR code. New versions (0030AE1x) are LoRa-only and can only be bound by QR code. Older versions (0030AEA4) continue through Bluetooth setup after scanning. |
| QR preferred with Bluetooth fallback | MS2, MS3 | Start on the QR page and select Use Bluetooth Setup when needed. When the App is not signed in, selecting the model opens Bluetooth discovery directly. |
| Automatic Bluetooth discovery | ST5, ST6, ST9, ST10, SD1, LS3, SW2 | Selecting the model opens Bluetooth discovery. Put the Sensor in Setup mode first when its guide requires it. SD1 also has a QR-code fallback. |
| Legacy Bluetooth addition | MS1, ST8 | These models use the legacy scan page instead of automatic discovery. Press and hold the MS1 button for 3 seconds, or turn the ST8 side switch to ON. |
| Bluetooth-assisted Wi-Fi setup | NS1, NS2, NS3 | Put the Sensor in Setup mode, select the model, and configure Wi-Fi in the App. A Hub and QR-code scan are not required. |
LS1 / LS2 Version Details
- New Version (
0030AE1x): QR-code scanning is the only supported binding entry. After binding, continue to the final App setup step and short-press the Sensor button for about 1 second when prompted. The new version does not support pressing and holding the button to enter Setup mode or restore factory settings. - Older Version (
0030AEA4): After scanning, the App opens the legacy Bluetooth setup flow. Press and hold the Sensor button for about 3 seconds until the blue indicator flashes continuously, then complete Bluetooth binding. Do not perform the new-version 1-second activation step.
2. What if the QR Code cannot be scanned?
If the QR code is damaged or your camera cannot focus on it, use the guidance below:
For New-Version LS1 / LS2
New-version LS1/LS2 Sensors use QR scanning as their only binding entry. After binding, the App prompts you to short-press the Sensor button for about 1 second to activate the Sensor and establish communication with the Hub. If the QR code is damaged, missing, or cannot be identified, please contact MOCREO support with your proof of purchase and a photo of the device label.
For Older LS1 / LS2 Sensors
Older LS1/LS2 Sensors also require QR-code scanning as the initial setup entry. If the QR code is damaged, missing, or cannot be identified, please contact MOCREO support with your proof of purchase and a photo of the device label.
For QR-Only Models (LW1, LD1, LB1)
If the QR code on these "Scan-only" models is damaged and cannot be identified, please contact MOCREO support with your proof of purchase and a photo of the device label for further assistance.
For MS2 / MS3
On the QR page, select Use Bluetooth Setup to continue through Bluetooth discovery.
For SD1
QR scanning is a fallback for SD1. If its QR code cannot be scanned, return to the model entry and retry automatic Bluetooth discovery.
3. Troubleshooting Bluetooth Detection Issues
If you are using automatic Bluetooth discovery, legacy Bluetooth addition, Bluetooth fallback, Wi-Fi provisioning, or an older-version LS1/LS2 flow and the App cannot find the Sensor, check the following:
Confirm Setup Mode Status
Ensure the Sensor is actively in Setup mode. Check its indicator or screen, then use the matching action below when needed:
- ST5 / ST6 / ST9 / ST10 / SW2:
Open the rubber cover → Press the button inside the pinhole for 1s → The blue LED will flash. - ST8:
Flip the side switch from the OFF to the ON position. - MS1: Press and hold the Setup button for 3 seconds.
- LS3: Pull out the battery insulation tab, then press and hold the button for 3 seconds.
- SD1: If it is not discovered automatically, press and hold the button for 3–10 seconds to enter Bluetooth pairing mode. You can also use the QR-code fallback in the App.
- NS1 / NS2: Press and hold the button for 5 seconds to enter Wi-Fi Setup mode.
- NS3: Press and hold the button for 5–10 seconds to enter Wi-Fi Setup mode.
- Older-version LS1 / LS2 (
0030AEA4): Press and hold the Sensor button for about 3 seconds. The blue indicator flashes continuously while the Sensor is in Setup mode.
Proximity & Connectivity
- Keep it Close: Place the sensor as close to your mobile device as possible during setup.
- External Probes: For sensors that require an external probe (like ST5, ST9, ST10, MS1, LS2), ensure the probe is firmly inserted into the main body before starting the setup.
Phone Settings
- Ensure the MOCREO Smart App has Bluetooth and Location permissions enabled in your phone's system settings.
Reset an Older LS1 / LS2
If Bluetooth setup still fails and the older Sensor needs to be reset, press and hold its button for 15 seconds to restore factory settings. Then restart setup by selecting the model in Add Devices and scanning the Sensor QR code. Do not use this long-press reset procedure on a new-version LS1/LS2.
4. Finish Setup in the App
After binding succeeds, complete Setting up the room and Set name. The App then opens the model-specific finishing flow:
- New-version LS1 / LS2: At the final setup prompt, short-press the Sensor button for about 1 second to activate the Sensor and establish communication with the Hub.
- Older-version LS1 / LS2: Successful Bluetooth binding establishes Sensor-to-Hub communication automatically. Do not perform the new-version 1-second activation step.
- Single-probe temperature or temperature/humidity sensors: Monitoring Scene
- SD1: Set Up Probes, followed by each probe's monitoring scene
- LD1: door direction and delay settings
- Other models: Alarm Rules or Sensor Settings
5. General Setup Tips
- Account: Sign in to your MOCREO account before adding any Sensor except ST5, ST6, ST8, ST9, ST10, and MS1.
- LoRa Hub First: To add a LoRa Sensor, the selected asset must already contain an H5 Pro or H6 Pro LoRa Hub.
- Use the model list: Always start from Home > [+] > Add Devices and select the exact model. The App then opens the model's QR-code, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi flow.
