My Sensor Setup Failed. What Should I Do?

Troubleshoot setup failures for Hub-connected Zigbee and BLE Sensors in the MOCREO Sensor App.

This guide applies to Sensors that are added through a Hub. First confirm that the Hub is online, then choose the Sensor connection type shown in the App or product guide.

Local Bluetooth Sensors

ST7 and ST8 connect directly to a phone and do not use this Hub-connected setup workflow. Follow the exact model guide under Add Devices in the Sensor App.

Zigbee Sensors

  1. Use an online H1B Hub. Zigbee Sensors do not use the H2 or the phone's Bluetooth scanning flow. If the H1B is offline, follow Hub Offline first.
  2. Check whether the Sensor is already bound. If it came in a kit and its card already appears in the App, press the Sensor pinhole once and wait 5-10 seconds for a reading before trying to add it again.
  3. Enter binding mode. Keep the Sensor beside the H1B. If one pinhole press produces one brief flash and then stops, hold the pinhole for about 6 seconds until the light flashes rapidly.
  4. Repeat Setup in the App. Tap +, choose Sensor, select the exact model, and select the online H1B. Keep the Sensor beside the Hub until its card appears and reports a current reading.
  5. If Setup still fails. Update the H1B firmware under Menu > Hubs > Hub Settings > Firmware Version. Also confirm that the Hub has not reached its 10-Sensor limit, then retry.

BLE Sensors

  1. Check the Hub and phone. Confirm that a compatible H1B or H2 Hub is online. Enable Bluetooth and network access on the phone, then grant the Sensor App the requested Bluetooth, Location, or Nearby Devices permissions.
  2. Prepare the Sensor. Make sure the Sensor battery has enough charge and firmly connect any required external probe. Keep the phone, Sensor, and Hub close together during Setup.
  3. Follow the model prompt. In the Sensor App, tap +, select the exact Sensor model, and choose the online Hub. If the App asks for Setup mode, perform the button or pinhole action shown for that model and confirm that its blue indicator flashes.
  4. Retry Bluetooth discovery. If the Sensor is not found, keep it within 5 m of the phone, turn phone Bluetooth off and on, reopen the Sensor App, and scan again.
  5. If Setup still fails. Update the Hub firmware under Menu > Hubs > Hub Settings > Firmware Version, then repeat the model-specific addition steps.

If the Sensor still cannot be added, contact MOCREO support with the Sensor model and SN, Hub model and SN, App version, connection type, indicator-light behavior, and the step where Setup stops.
