Signal level optimization
Sensor BLE signal level is too low, how can I improve it?
First, it’s important to understand the common factors that can affect the signal level of a BLE sensor:
- Distance:
The transmission distance of BLE signals is limited by the physical distance between devices. Generally, the farther the distance between BLE devices, the weaker the signal strength and transmission rate will be affected.
- Obstacles:
Physical barriers such as walls, furniture, and human bodies can attenuate the transmission capability of BLE signals. The more obstacles there are, the more severe the signal attenuation will be.
- Interference sources:
Other wireless devices or electronic equipment can cause interference and impact BLE signal transmission. For example, devices like Wi-Fi routers, microwave ovens, and televisions may operate in the same frequency band and cause signal interference.
To improve the BLE signal level by optimizing the deployment environment of the hub and sensors, follow these steps:
- Adjust deployment positions:
Reduce the distance between the hub and the BLE sensor to ensure it stays within the Bluetooth scanning range of the hub.
- Avoid obstacles:
Avoid obstacles and try to maintain a line of sight between devices.
- Eliminate interference sources:
Keep the BLE sensor away from other devices that may interfere with BLE signals, such as Wi-Fi routers, microwave ovens, etc, as they may operate in the same frequency band and cause signal interference.
