What to Do If Adding a Sensor via MOCREO Smart App Fails

Step 1: Check Whether Your Sensor Is in Setup Mode

Bluetooth LE Sensors

  • ST5/ST6/ST9/ST10/SW2 Sensors:
Use a pin to press the recessed button inside the sensor’s pinhole. If the sensor’s blue indicator light blinks briefly and continuously, it has successfully entered setup mode.

  • ST8 Sensor:
Regardless of the initial switch state (ON or OFF) when you receive the ST8 sensor, you must toggle the switch from OFF to ON to activate setup mode for successful pairing.

  • MS1 Sensor:
Remove the battery insulation tab, then press and hold the setup button for about 3 seconds before releasing. If the blue indicator light blinks briefly and continuously, the sensor has entered setup mode.

LoRa Sensors

  • LS1/LS2 Sensors:
Remove the battery insulation tab, press and hold the setup button for about 3 seconds, then release. If the blue indicator light blinks briefly and continuously, the sensor has entered setup mode.

Note: If the sensor’s indicator light does not activate as expected, follow the steps below to check whether the issue is caused by low battery or a hardware malfunction.

Checking for Low Battery
Bluetooth LE Sensors
  • ST5/ST6/ST9/ST10/SW2 Sensors:
Charge the sensor using the included power adapter and cable. The red indicator light will stay on during charging and turn off automatically when the battery is nearly fully charged.
If the red light does not turn on during charging, this indicates a potential hardware fault.

  • ST8 Sensor:
Replace the battery with a new 9V 6LR61 battery (purchased separately).

  • MS1 Sensor:
Replace the batteries with three new AAA batteries (purchased separately).

Step 2: Ensure the Sensor Is Placed Near Your Phone

All currently available MOCREO sensors require Bluetooth scanning during setup. Place the sensor close to your phone to ensure it is within Bluetooth range.

Note: If the issue persists after following the steps above, contact contact@mocreo.com for further assistance.
