Sensor Probe Disconnection Issues¶
If you receive a "probe disconnection" error message from MOCREO or observe this abnormal sensor status in the MOCREO client, this guide will help you understand and resolve the issue.
What Causes Probe Disconnection?¶
There are two main causes for probe disconnection errors:
- External Probe Not Connected: For sensors with external probes, the probe may not be properly inserted after sensor activation
- Internal Component Failure: For sensors with built-in probes, this error typically indicates an internal component malfunction
- Connection Detection Issue: The sensor body fails to detect the external probe connection (related to either the sensor body or the external probe)
Troubleshooting Solutions¶
ST5 / ST9 / ST10 Temperature Sensors
Symptoms: When the external probe is disconnected, the sensor's blue LED will flash continuously to indicate probe status abnormality.
Solution Steps:
Clean and Reconnect the Probe:¶
- Remove the external temperature probe from the sensor
- Clean the probe connection area with a tissue or soft cloth
- Firmly reinsert the probe and wait approximately 30 seconds
- Check if monitoring data is being reported normally
Cross-Test with Another Sensor (if available):¶
- If you have another working sensor of the same model, swap the probes between the two sensors
- Observe whether the problem follows the probe or remains with the original sensor body
- This helps determine if the issue is with the external probe or the sensor body
Contact Support:¶
- Report your troubleshooting findings to our support team
- We will send you a replacement external probe or complete sensor unit (including probe)
MS1 / LS2 Temperature Sensors
Symptoms: When the external probe is disconnected, the sensor's red LED will flash continuously to indicate probe status abnormality.
Solution: Follow the same troubleshooting steps as outlined above for ST5/ST9/ST10 sensors.
H5Lite Smart Hub
Note on Probe Availability: The H5Lite Hub does not come with an external probe in the standard package. It requires a separately purchased Type-C interface external probe.
Activation: When you insert the probe, the Hub screen will prompt you to enable the external probe. Press the control knob to confirm.
Troubleshooting:¶
If you encounter a probe disconnection issue: 1. Unplug and re-plug the probe to attempt recovery. 2. If it cannot be restored, please contact us for support.
ST8 Temperature Data Logger
Structure: The ST8 external probe is integrated with the sensor body and is not detachable.
Troubleshooting: If you receive a "probe disconnected" error for the ST8, it typically indicates a hardware failure. Please contact us immediately for assistance.
ST6 Temperature and Humidity Sensor
Symptoms: When experiencing probe disconnection issues, the sensor's blue LED will flash continuously to indicate probe status abnormality.
Solution: - Contact our support team with your sensor purchase order information and shipping address - We will send you a replacement sensor unit
LS1 Temperature Sensor
Symptoms: When experiencing probe disconnection issues, the sensor's red LED will flash continuously to indicate probe status abnormality.
Solution: Follow the same replacement procedure as outlined above for the ST6 sensor.
