ST8 App Addition Guide

Before You Start

ST8 sensor with a 9 V 6LR61 battery installed
A phone with the MOCREO Smart App installed and Bluetooth enabled
For Hub use, a compatible Smart System Hub already online in the App

Decide whether the ST8 will be used directly with the phone or through a Hub.

Add ST8 in the MOCREO Smart App

Turn the ST8 side switch to ON, then place the ST8 next to the phone. For Hub use, also keep it near the online Hub.
Open the MOCREO Smart App. A MOCREO account is not required for this addition.
On Home, tap + to open Add Devices, then select ST8 under Temperature & Humidity Sensor and follow the legacy Bluetooth scan page. ST8 does not use automatic Bluetooth discovery.

Keep the side switch set to ON while the App scans for the ST8.

Confirm the Device Was Added

Confirm that the ST8 appears in the App and reports a current temperature reading through the selected connection mode.

Set Alarm Limits

Path: Home → ST8 device card → Settings (⚙) → Alarm Settings

Whether or not a Hub is used, opening Alarm Settings makes the App connect directly to the ST8 over Bluetooth. Keep the phone next to the ST8 with the side switch set to ON until saving finishes. The App writes the temperature limits to the ST8 first and saves the rule only after the ST8 confirms them. If Bluetooth disconnects or the write cannot be confirmed, nothing is saved; move closer and try again.

Standalone Use (No Hub)

Stand next to the ST8 and open its Alarm Settings.
Wait for the Bluetooth connection, then enable Temperature Alarm and set the range.
Tap Save while staying near the ST8.

The ST8 sounds its own buzzer when the temperature leaves the range. App push and email notifications are not sent, because no Hub uploads the ST8's data. The detail page shows -- without a Hub; this does not affect alarm settings.

Use with a Hub

Stand next to the ST8 and open its Alarm Settings.
Wait for the Bluetooth connection, then enable Temperature Alarm and set the range.
Choose the notification options, such as App Push Notifications, Email Notifications, or a Hub buzzer.
Tap Save while staying near the ST8.

The ST8 buzzer uses the same range. The App and email notifications and the Hub buzzer are triggered from the data that the Hub uploads. See Configure Alerts and Notifications.
