How many sensors can one Hub support?

Bluetooth LE sensors

  • A compatible Hub can receive and forward data from up to 30 in-range BLE sensors in lab conditions.
  • Real-world layouts (walls, interference, distance) may reduce that number.
  • Walk a single sensor through every planned monitoring spot; if readings stay stable, you can keep using the same Hub. Add another Hub only when stability drops.

LoRa sensors

  • A compatible Hub can technically receive and forward data from up to 100 in-range LoRa sensors, but we observed severe process congestion near that limit (slow button responses, delayed data).
  • For consistent performance, keep the number of LoRa sensors served by one Hub to roughly 30.
  • Field tests trump theory—deploy sensors gradually and watch for dropouts. Expand coverage with an extra Hub wherever signals become unreliable.
